CANZA is a social club that aims to maintain and strengthen ties between people in the Czech Republic who are — or want to be — involved in the Australian and New Zealand community in any way.
Our members include Aussies, Kiwis, Czechs, and people from many other nations who share a connection to our community. Young and old, long-term residents or short-term visitors — in short, everyone is welcome.
Each year, we organize a variety of activities, including casual drinks, BBQs, and traditional celebrations such as Australia Day, Waitangi Day, and ANZAC Day.
In 2026, we’re excited to introduce new events like the Southern Hemisphere Social Tennis Tournament — and much more! You can find the complete annual program on our “Events” page.
Become a member [here] and join our vibrant community. We also encourage members to help organize events — your ideas, suggestions, and feedback are always welcome.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

CANZA was born in 2005, when Australian Steve Rees and fellow Aussies and Kiwis in Prague got together over a few beers and decided to create a community for expats and locals with a love for Australia and New Zealand.
What started as casual drinks nights quickly grew into sports clubs, cultural events, and national day celebrations — from Rugby and Cricket to Australia Day, Waitangi Day, ANZAC Day, and our Christmas Charity Ball supporting Czech children’s charities.
Over the years, CANZA has also helped promote Australasian culture through film nights, business lunches, music and arts events, and community initiatives. Along the way, we’ve supported expats, donated equipment, and even helped some members find love!
Today, CANZA continues to bring people together for fun, culture, and community in Prague. Join us to celebrate, connect, and share a taste of Australian and New Zealand life.
